Jason Day dominated the 2016 majors even without any wins

Jason Day came up just short of winning his second major at the PGA Championship when his incredible eagle on No. 18 left him one stroke behind eventual winner, Jimmy Walker.

But despite the lack of wins for world's No. 1 golfer at the majors in 2016, nobody was better from start to finish. Including his second-place showing at Baltusrol, Day had three top-10s in the majors this year and posted a cumulative score of 9-under. Of the 14 golfers to make the cut at all four majors, Day was the only golfer to have a total score under par at the four majors combined.

This season's scores were in stark contrast to the 2015 season. Last year, 14 golfers had a total score under par and Jordan Spieth broke Tiger Woods' record by shooting 54-under in the four events combined. Despite his struggles this year, Spieth had the second-best total score at 3-over.
