  • Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey is known for both his shut-down coverage and impressive trash talk.
  • In a recent interview with GQ, Ramsey got off to an early start roasting his opponents for the 2018 NFL season, giving his candid thoughts on starting QBs across the league.
  • Ramsey was also quite complimentary of other quarterbacks, including Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Deshaun Watson.

Jalen Ramsey is not shy about sharing his true feelings on the football field.

Despite being just two seasons into his NFL career, Ramsey has already made a name for himself, both as one of the fiercest coverage defenders in the league, and his needling words. He's a known trash-talker, and the results of his insults have included a mid-game brawl with A.J. Green.

As it turns out, Ramsey is also an impressive trash-talker off the field, as he made clear while speaking with GQ's Clay Skipper. Throughout the interview, Ramsey offers his thoughts on what feels like almost every quarterback in the NFL and does not hold back on his feelings, roasting opposing QBs left and right.

Here are a few of the highlights:

On Joe Flacco:

Just being honest about it, [Joe] Flacco sucks. I played him two years in a row. He sucks.

On Ben Roethlisberger:

Big Ben [Roethlisberger], I think he's decent at best… It's not Big Ben, it's [Antonio Brown]. Big Ben slings the ball a lot of the time. He just slings it, and his receivers go get it. He has a strong arm, but he ain't all that. I played him twice last year, and he really disappointed me.

On Bills first-round draft pick Josh Allen:

I don't care what nobody say. He's trash. And it's gonna show too. That's a stupid draft pick to me. We play them this year, and I'm excited as hell. I hope he's their starting quarterback. ... If you look at his games against big schools, it was always hella interceptions, hella turnovers. It's like: Yo, if you're this good, why couldn't you do better? He fits that mold, he's a big, tall quarterback. Big arm, supposedly. I don't see it, personally.

On Matt Ryan:

What's the Atlanta quarterback's name? [Skipper informs Ramsey it's Matt Ryan] I think Matt Ryan's overrated. You can't tell me you win MVP two years ago, and then last year, you a complete bust, and you still got Julio Jones? There's no way that should ever happen. I don't care.

While the highlights of the interview for any fan of football drama are indeed Ramsey's confident roasts, the Jaguars cornerback is also quite complimentary to other quarterbacks across the league.

When asked which quarterbacks "don't suck" by his grading, Ramsey was quick to list off Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Marcus Mariota. He even noted his belief that Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson both have MVP potential for years to come.

Ramsey is well aware that his bold statements are the type to get this kind of coverage across the internet. "Everything I say catches the Internet. Literally everything," Ramsey says of the media's reaction to his strong words. "I could say something that I feel is light and it's gonna go crazy. And they find a way to twist it a little bit, too."
