Economists at Credit Suisse say not a day goes by without their being asked whether the US could be in a recession.
They aren't the only ones. Stock analysts focused on the financial sector have said it is the No. 1 topic with clients.
Markets have been signaling a sharp slowdown in the economy, and some of the biggest names in finance have weighed in on the topic.
While it's right to take the risk seriously, Credit Suisse's team, led by chief economist James Sweeney, says the answer is a straight-up no.
"In our view, the US is not in a recession now, and won't be later this year either," they wrote in a note out Monday.
