While gender reveal parties are the ‘it’ trend these days, a Dubai-based social media influencer couple took it up a notch – well, actually 2,722 ft up. The ‘influencer’ couple Anas and Asala Marwah held the gender reveal party of their second child with a light show on the world’s tallest tower Burj Khalifa.

The video, which has gone viral, sees the couple stand in amazement as the Burj Khalifa lights up with a countdown and then turns completely blue while the lights read “It’s a boy”.

While it’s not yet known whether the couple paid (as high as $100,000) for the event or it came their way as one of the PR packages, the gender reveal party is surely set to go down as one of the most extravagant ones ever.

The couple, married for three years, has a following of 7.5 million on YouTube, while the post on Instagram alone has gathered over 1.7 million views.

But the event has sparked outrage online, especially as across the ocean it was a gender reveal party which reportedly led to one of the worst wildfires in California.
