New video footage apparently shows Russian President Vladimir Putin's troops on the front lines in the Kremlin's war with Ukraine complaining and cursing about not having enough training, supplies or food.

"No bullets, no grenades, no pouches, no food, no water. It's a fucking mess!" an apparent Russian soldier griped in the video posted to Facebook this week by Ukrainian journalist Yurii Butusov.

"We're on the fucking front lines," the man said in the two-minute video, which shows several soldiers huddled around each other in the thick of the woods.

Insider could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.

In the footage, the soldiers identified themselves as members of the 423rd Regiment of the 4th Guards Kantemirovskaya Tank Division.

"We were sent here with no training, nothing. They fucked us all over. The Kantemirovskaya division fucks us over all the time," a younger man says in the video.

The apparent younger Russian troop said that soldiers had to bring their own uniforms that they bought with their own money to fight in Putin's unprovoked eight-month- war with Ukraine.

"Tasks are unclear," the man said. "The direction of the enemy forces is unclear — there is no connection. The shelling is endless."

Someone off-camera could be heard saying that eight troops were killed in action in a single recent night and that the unit lost one tank and a tractor.

"It is not clear where we are," the person says.

The apparent soldier who complained that the situation was a "mess" even whined about the lack of "warm underwear."

"All things were thrown away. Told us to fucking run ahead. We only got our fucking pants," said the man, who added, "Long live the fucking Russian army!"

Butusov, Ukrainian journalist who posted the video, warned in a caption, "You should not think that the entire Russian army looks like this, there are also quite combat-ready units. Do not think that the enemy is as weak as this regiment."

"But the video shows that Russia is not able to carry out mobilization properly," Butusov said. "First of all, there is no time for preparation, there are no sergeants and junior officers, there is an acute shortage of commanders."

Last month, Putin announced plans to partially mobilize hundreds of thousands of reservists to beef up the Kremlin's forces in his failing invasion of Ukraine.

He made the announcement as Russia suffered major defeats on the battlefield in the war that has already taken a heavy toll on Russian forces.

British intelligence recently said that the Russian military's top brass has only become "increasingly dysfunctional" as Putin's war drags on.
