Ukraine says it chased Russian soldiers out of a village in eastern Donetsk, sharing a video of fleeing vehicles and troops.

The footage, released by Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, features artillery strikes and aerial scenes of more than a dozen soldiers running down a road and being targeted by tanks and what appear to be drone strikes.

The footage is captioned: "The enemy flees Urozhaine in panic".

The 50-second video also shows a soldier planting a Ukrainian flag.

Ukraine's MOD said in the accompanying text that the 35th and 38th Marine Brigades were involved in the attack, and that the "Ukrainian offensive operation continues".

The Institute for the Study of War said on Wednesday that Ukrainian forces continued their counteroffensive operations on at least three sectors of the front, which included "liberating the village of Urozhaine."

And in a Telegram post on Wednesday, Ukraine's deputy defense minister, Hanna Maliar, said "Urozhaine liberated. Our defenders are consolidating their positions."

Meanwhile, Alexander Sergeevich Khodakovsky, the commander of the pro-Russian Vostok Battalion in Donetsk, described Urozhaine as a "meat grinder" in a Telegram post on Tuesday.

The recapture of Urozhaine would point to gradual progress in Ukraine's counteroffensive.

Ukraine's troops have scrambled to make significant headway in recent months, while struggling to overcome Russia's extensive defenses.
