A key pillar of the Trump team's plans before the Save America Rally held on
The pitch was outlined in a 22-page communications playbook first published by Politico. Titled the "Strategic Communications Plan," it was authored by a group of unnamed individuals under the moniker the "Giuliani Presidential Legal Defense Team."
The document was part of a trove of materials submitted to the January 6 select committee last week by Timothy Parlatore, an attorney representing Bernard Kerik.
One section of the document on conservative influencers, in particular, included a full section on TikTok, urging Trump to get on the platform to help with the
"TIKTOK*** WE have to use TIKTOK!! Content goes VIRAL here like no other platform!!!!! And there are MILLIONS of Trump supporters!" read the document. "It would be amazing if POTUS would use the platform actually - he'd have the biggest account EVER."
The document lists ten TikTok influencers and their follower counts, including conservative TikTok influencers Conservative Barbie and the Republican Hype House. The list also included Dr. Sara Lorei, describing her as an account with "fewer followers" who "does an amazing Kamala Harris impression," and Adam Calhoun, a "musical artist, hilarious but swears a lot, rough persona but I think it will connect with many people."
Trump does not currently have a TikTok account and pushed for a ban on TikTok in the US while president.
According to the document, the goal of this communications blitz was to execute a "nationwide communications outreach campaign to educate the public on the fraud numbers, and inspire citizens to call upon legislators and Members of Congress to disregard the fraudulent vote count and certify the duly-elected President Trump."
This communications blitz was to take place between December 27 and January 6, and mobilize a host of conservative influencers and members of the House Freedom Caucus. Per the document, the purpose of the communications campaign was to apply pressure on Republican senators in swing states like Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, as well as GOP members of the House and Senate.
Kerik is an associate of Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani and former New York City Police commissioner. He was subpoenaed in November by the January 6 panel to provide information on his role in helping Giuliani find evidence of voter fraud after the 2020 presidential election, per CNN. There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, and Trump's allegations of voter fraud have been debunked.
