What happened today:

Half of Americans are fully vaxxed. The US has reached a huge milestone in its vaccine rollout: Cyrus Shahpar, the White House's COVID-19 data director, said that 50% of Americans have been inoculated. He said the seven-day average of new vaccinations was up 11% from last week and up 44% over the past two weeks.

Rupert Murdoch has lost control of Fox News. Michael Wolff, the media titan's biographer, said that while Murdoch hates former President Trump, he won't change Fox News' Trumpism because it's too profitable - and he doesn't have control over its hosts, anyway. Read The 600-Word Interview here.

Inside the chaos at Spirit Airlines. More than 1,000 Spirit Airlines flights were canceled this week in an epic meltdown caused by a poorly timed combination of bad weather, system outages, and staffing issues. "We were not aware why the flights started canceling," one Spirit employee who works in customer service told Insider. "I had an anxiety attack, thinking maybe something like 9/11 was happening."

A timely tan throwback. President Joe Biden donned a tan suit almost exactly seven years after former President Obama scandalized right-wing media by wearing one. Obama's fashion choice in August 2014 particularly upset former GOP Rep. Peter T. King, who said the suit reflected a "lack of seriousness." The question is, who wore it better?

Just one of those days. An Olympic pentathlete went from first place to 31st after her horse refused to jump. Germany's Annika Schleu had been in first place after the first two pentathlon events, fencing and swimming, but her fortunes changed dramatically when it came to jumping. She ended up in 31st place out of 36.

That's all for now. See you on Monday.
