What happened today:
"Biden turned his back on him." The father of one of at least 13 US Marines killed in the Kabul suicide bomb attack on Thursday placed blame on President Joe Biden. Steve Nikoui, father of Kareem Nikoui, told The Daily Beast: "Biden turned his back on him. That's it."
ISIS-K prisoners freed. The Pentagon said thousands of ISIS-K prisoners were released in Afghanistan after the government fell to the Taliban two weeks ago. Among those released were also senior Al Qaeda operatives and Taliban fighters. ISIS-K, the Islamic State's Afghanistan affiliate, claimed responsibility for Thursday's attack outside the Kabul airport.
Florida's mask mandate ban is struck down. A judge ruled that FL Gov. Ron DeSantis overstepped his authority when he issued an executive order to ban mask mandates, the Associated Press reported. Schools may impose mask mandates, the judge said, and agreed with parents who filed the lawsuit claiming the ban was unconstitutional.
The FBI wants a lot of Giuliani's emails. Former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani says the FBI wants his emails and text messages dating back to 1995. "This is as unconstitutional as you can get," Giuliani told NBC New York. The Manhattan US attorney's office has been investigating whether he violated foreign lobbying laws through his work in Ukraine.
Ronaldo returns to Man Utd. Soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo is officially back with Manchester United after spending six years with the club between 2003 and 2009. The reunion between Ronaldo and Manchester United comes as a shock after a week of rumors linking the Juventus forward to United's crosstown rival Manchester City.
