- Ah yes, "Antifa things," of course. My Pillow guy Mike Lindell claimed 'Antifa things' were trying to infiltrate his cyber symposium. It was actually 3 people singing hymns in the parking lot. Lindell kicked off the last day of his Sioux Falls cyber symposium by talking about a "poison pill" attack being planned on the cyber symposium.
- Gimme a break. Stunning photos show a 34,000-ton cargo ship that snapped in half off Japan's coast. The Panamanian-registered cargo ship, Crimson Polaris, ran aground at the Japanese port of Hatching, then broke into two parts. All 21 crew members were air-lifted to safety.
- TikTok's teen safety plan. TikTok will stop sending late-night notifications to teens as it looks to tighten safety controls. Users between 13 and 15 will not receive notifications from 9 p.m., while those between 16 and 17 will have notifications disabled every night at 10 p.m., said the company.
- Hong Kong's major exodus. Almost 90,000 people left Hong Kong in the past year. It marks the city's biggest population decrease in 60 years. Hong Kong saw a net outflow of 89,200 residents year over year in June 2021, bringing its population down 1.2% to 7.39 million people.
- ACB's surprise strike. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett denied students' request to block Indiana University's vaccine mandate. The decision marked the first legal challenge to a COVID-19 vaccine mandate to reach the Supreme Court.
- "I fake it so real, I am beyond fake." China is tempting customers with its flawless AI idols - virtual influencers who don't gain weight, never age, and keep their computer-generated noses out of scandal. The influencers are created using alternate-reality technology, and have been adopted by companies in place of celebrity endorsements.
