What's going on today:
- Texas Democrats blocked a major restrictive voting rights bill. Democratic lawmakers walked out late Saturday to ensure there wouldn't be the quorum of lawmakers necessary to vote on the legislation.
- Nikki Haley slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for long weekend tweet. Republican governors diss My Pillow man. Haley called Harris "Unprofessional and unfit," for omitting "Memorial Day" in a tweet that said: "Enjoy the long weekend," along with a photo of Harris.
- Senator Ted Cruz is visiting Israel to assess damage from 11 days of violence. The Texas Senator also called on President Joe Biden to send aid to Israel for their Iron Dome security system.
- SpaceX's ocean spaceport is under construction. Elon Musk announced that "Deimos," will be operational next year. The platform is intended to be used as a launch and landing platform for the SpaceX Starship, a spacecraft that Musk intends to send to Mars.
- More experts call for an investigation into lab leak theory. Prominent scientist Peter Hotez said understanding the origin of the coronavirus is critical for preventing another coronavirus pandemic. "There's going to be covid-26 and covid-32 unless we fully understand the origins of covid-19," Hotez said.
