'The View' co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former White House aide, calls Trump's remarks against Elaine Chao 'despicable': 'He's not even trying to hide the racism at this point'
  • Alyssa Farah Griffin called out Trump's comments against Mitch McConnell and Elaine Chao
  • "He's not even trying to hide the racism at this point," Farah Griffin said in a tweet on Saturday.

Ex-White House aide Alyssa Farah Griffin denounced former President Donald Trump's "despicable" remarks he made against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife.

"This isn't some crazy person on the internet, this is the GOP front-runner for President if the Party doesn't wake up & demand better," Farah Griffin wrote in a tweet on Saturday with a screenshot of Trump's comments.

"He's not even trying to hide the racism at this point," "The View" co-host said.

On Friday, Trump took a public jab at McConnell, saying he greenlit "all these Trillions of dollars worth of Democrat Bills, without even the slightest bit of negotiation" because he hates him or "because he believes in the Fake and Highly Destructive Green New Deal."

"In any event, either reason is unacceptable," Trump said on his Truth Social account. "He has a DEATH WISH."

The former president also continued to insult McConnell's spouse, his own former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, adding, "Must immediately seek help and advise from his China loving wife, Coco Chow!"

Chao, who was born in Taiwan, announced she was stepping down from her position the day after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

"Yesterday, our country experienced a traumatic and entirely avoidable event as supporters of the President stormed the Capitol building following a rally he addressed," she said in a statement at the time. "As I'm sure is the case with many of you, it has deeply troubled me in a way that I simply cannot set aside."
