Matt James, the star of season 25 of "The Bachelor," is looking for a woman he can bring home to his mom.

James told Wake Forest Magazine (the publication of his alma mater), that his mother, Patty James, is "the most faithful person I've ever known." Patty raised James and his brother on her own after their father left the family, so it's no surprise that James counts Patty as one of his biggest inspirations.

A source told US Weekly that James will know he's found his future mate when he can bring someone to meet Patty. However, that's a pretty high bar, the source said.

Patty instilled her Christian faith in her son, so finding a partner who shares that faith will be important, the source told US Weekly.

James has said that Patty is eagerly awaiting her grandkids. On a summer episode of "The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons - Ever," he said, "I think that the grandkid counter for my mom started when that announcement was made. She wants a basketball team! I'll have a minivan, that's the max."

Patty believes her son is quite the catch, she told ABC in 2019.

"Before he considers the difficulties and obstacles he just goes in and does it. I've just seen him overcome obstacle and hurdle after hurdle, just never giving up," she told ABC. "He brings people in and he is also listening; he doesn't just try to do it his way. He's open to constructive criticism, he's teachable, he's coachable, and I think all these things helped him when he started doing this. He doesn't do it alone."

James's Instagram account is full of pictures with Patty, including a tribute to her posted on Father's Day.

"Happy Father's Day, Mom," he wrote, referencing psalm 68:5, which talks about "a father to the fatherless."

On Patty's birthday, James posted a happy birthday message referencing proverbs 22:6, which reads, "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
