The sheriff's office has named the four students killed as Tate Myre, 16; Hana St. Juliana, 14; Madisyn Baldwin, 17; and Justin Shilling, 17.
At least seven other people, including a 47-year-old teacher, were injured in the attack, the sheriff's office said. Bouchard added that it was unknown whether the shooter had targeted individual students.
Here's what we know about the victims so far, according to the sheriff's office and reports. The families have been notified, Bouchard said.

"There was no time to wait," Bouchard said on Tuesday. "He tried to load him in the car to get him as fast as he could to a hospital, and he expired in the car."
Myre, a tight end and linebacker for his football team, had recently won school honors, The New York Times reported. "He was a standout player. He inspired many people and was loved by many people," Matt Johnson, a 17-year-old who had played against Myre, told the New York Post.
As of Wednesday morning, more than 33,000 people have signed a petition calling on the school to rename its stadium the Tate Myre Stadium.
Madisyn Baldwin, 17
Baldwin, one of three siblings, was about to graduate from the school. She had been accepted to several colleges, some with a full scholarship offer, her family said, Click on Detroit reported.
Her family described her as an artist who enjoyed drawing, reading, and writing, the outlet reported.
Baldwin's grandmother, Jennifer Graves Mosqueda, posted updates on Facebook during the shooting on Tuesday, sharing that Baldwin wasn't answering calls from family members, and that she wasn't present in her psychology class, The Detroit News reported.
Mosqueda, who said her granddaughter called her GiGi, has raised over $22,000 in a GoFundMe for Baldwin's family.
"This beautiful, smart, sweet loving girl was tragically taken from us all today leaving a huge hole in all of our hearts," Mosqueda wrote on the GoFundMe page. "This horrific day could never have been imagined or planned for."
