Shani Louk's mother said she received information leading her to believe that her daughter is still alive.

Ricarda Louk said Palestinian sources told her that her daughter is alive in a Hamas hospital, German outlet Bild reported on Tuesday.

"We now have reasons to believe that Shani is alive but has had a severe head injury and is in critical condition. Every minute is critical," Ricarda Louk told Bild.

She continued: "We are not getting any information from the authorities here. Peace activists have told us that Shani will now only get help if the German authorities officially intervene."

Neither Israeli, German, nor Palestinian officials have confirmed Shani Louk's whereabouts or whether or not she is alive.

Ricarda Louk told Bild that when she last spoke to Shani Louk, she encouraged her 22-year-old daughter to take cover in a nearby shelter. She said that her daughter told her she would find somewhere safe to go as she heard shots ring out on the other side of the phone.

She said that Shani Louk wanted to escape the massacre with her boyfriend and other friends, but that she quickly lost touch as the friends took cover hiding in bushes. The friends have since reappeared and are safe, but Shani Louk and her boyfriend remain missing.

A video of what appears to be Shani Louk's body being paraded through the streets of Gaza on the back of a pickup truck have circulated social media since Saturday when Hamas launched deadly attacks in the south of Israel.

Shani Louk, a German native, was attending the Tribe of Nova music festival in the south when Hamas militants invaded, killing hundreds of people and taking many as hostages back to Gaza.

"You have to act fast and get Shani out of Gaza!" Ricarda Louk said, according to Bild.
