Voters approved Question 2, also known as the Minimum Wage Amendment, amending the state's constitution to raise the minimum wage in Nevada.

2022 General Embeds

Ballot measure details

Question 2 raised the minimum wage from $9.50 — for employees with health benefits — and $10.50 — for all other employees — to $12.

The measure also got rid of a law requiring minimum wage increases based on annual inflation growth and got rid of a tiered minimum wage system based on employee health benefits.

Support and opposition

State Democratic leaders and local non-profits led the campaign in support of Question 2.

Supporters argued the measure was necessary to support low-income workers and get rid of the state's tiered minimum wage system that makes wages lower for workers who receive healthcare.

The Republican Party of Nevada and the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce were some of the groups campaigning against Question 2.

Those opposed say that the proposition would hurt businesses and get rid of entry-level jobs that would help teenagers and younger workers gain experience.
