Protesters plan to 'carpool to Justice Clarence Thomas' street' in the wake of SCOTUS overturning Roe v. Wade
  • An activist group said on Friday that it intends to hold a protest at Justice Clarence Thomas' home.
  • The group, Our Rights DC, opposes the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Protesters plan to head to Justice Clarence Thomas' house on Friday night in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning the landmark abortion-rights decision Roe v. Wade.

"Enraged? Devastated? Pissed the fuck off? So are we," Our Rights DC tweeted on Friday afternoon.

"Meet us at 5711 Burke Centre Pkwy. 6:30 PM we meet, 7 PM we carpool to the Thomas's street. WEAR A MASK," the group said.

An organizer with Our Rights DC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

On Friday, the Supreme Court sided with the state of Mississippi in the case Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health, overturning almost 50 years of a federally protected right to an abortion.

In the majority opinion, Justice Samuel Alito said that previous court decisions upholding the rights to contraception and same-sex marriage — citing the right to privacy under the Constitution's due-process clause — would not be similarly harmed.

But Thomas, in a concurring opinion, failed to echo Alito's assurances. Thomas wrote, "In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court's substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell."
