Members of the royal family arrived in Scotland to be with the Queen before her death at Balmoral.

A plane carrying seven members of the royal household arrived in Aberdeen just before 4:00 p.m. local time, BBC News reported in a broadcast.

Photos show Prince William driving a car with passengers Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Countess of Wessex Sophie arriving in Balmoral.

Prince Harry is also headed to Scotland to be at the Queen's side.

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton won't be traveling to Balmoral to visit the Queen and are both at Windsor, according to reports. Thursday is the first day of school for the Dutchess of Cambridge's children.

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles had been with the Queen since the palace announced her medical supervision earlier Thursday.

With the Queen's death, her eldest son ascended to the throne as King Charles III.
