Right-wing social media platform Parler sent Ivanka Trump's private email address to hundreds of verified users not using the bcc function, according to multiple reports.

Parler's outreach team sent out an email on Monday to more than 200 of its verified users to announce rapper Kanye West's acquisition of the platform, The New York Post and Mashable reported.

But the verified users were reportedly cc'd rather than bcc'd in the email, which means that their names and private email addresses were made visible to everyone who received it, and anyone who had been forwarded in the email.

"Our VIPs are an invaluable part of the Parler family and experience," the email read, according to a screenshot shared by Adam Ryan, the CEO of media company Workweek.

"We appreciate all your support and partnership in fighting for free speech, and we look forward to your involvement in this monumental new chapter," it continued.

Ryan said in his tweet: "Parler sent an email to all users with 300+ of their verified users CC'd instead of BCC'd"

"Now hundreds of people are replying and everyone has access to the personal emails of many verified users and Parler investors."

Other verified users whose emails were leaked include Donald Trump Jr.'s fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle; conservative commentator Candace Owens; and Rep. Elise Stefanik, the House Republican conference chair; The Post reported.

West, who legally changed his name to Ye last year, is acquiring Parler for an undisclosed sum, the site announced earlier this week. The deal is expected to be completed later this year.

"Ye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again," George Farmer, the chief executive of Parler's parent company, Parlement Technologies, said in a statement.

The announcement came a week after West was locked out of his Twitter account for making a number of antisemitic comments.

Parler, founded in 2018, became popular during the lead-up and aftermath of the 2020 presidential election. It is known for having loose moderating policies than other social media platforms.

The company did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
