MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell said he won't be taking a paycheck from the Republican National Committee if he gets elected chairman.

Lindell made the comment during a Monday broadcast on his Frank Speech platform and elaborated on it in a call with Insider on Monday night.

"But I would not take a paycheck from the RNC, I'd put all the money back into it," Lindell told Insider on Monday. "If I'm running it, the money that goes to it will actually go to doing good."

Lindell added that while he isn't sure how much the RNC chair makes, it must be a lucrative job.

"I don't know how much they get paid, but I assume quite a bit. Why would somebody like Ronna McDaniel want to be re-elected?" he said, referring to his rival and the current RNC chair. Representatives for McDaniel did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment on Lindell's statements and how much she makes as RNC chair.

Lindell also told Insider he's been reaching out to every delegate in the RNC since he announced his run last week. He says he has secured the support of representatives from six states and is looking to shore up more support.

"I believe I can run the RNC and fix their problems, and it's not going to take years and years," Lindell said.

Lindell also touted his own business record running MyPillow, saying he has faced "pretty adverse conditions" over the past few years but remains "well-versed in how to run a company."

"And anybody who says, 'Well, Mike, why don't you have the skill to do this?' Yeah, I think I do," Lindell told Insider.

In June, Walmart — MyPillow's biggest distributor — pulled Lindell's products from its shelves. Other retailers have also distanced themselves from Lindell. In April 2021, Costco pulled MyPillow's products, as did Bed Bath & Beyond, QVC, JCPenney, and Wayfair. And in September, even Lindell's ecommerce platform MyStore saw vendors bailing after the pillow CEO's phone was seized by the FBI.

Last week, Lindell blamed McDaniel for Republicans' poor election record.

"Let's look at Ronna's report card. 2018: F, 2020: F, 2022: F. and it shouldn't be," Lindell said in an interview on Wednesday.

McDaniel, who has been the RNC chair since 2017, has been endorsed by the majority of the RNC's voting members. The pro-McDaniel bloc includes 101 voting members, who signed a letter endorsing her re-election, The Hill reported.

The results of the RNC election will be announced during the committee's winter meeting in January 2023.
