- Liz Cheney slammed Marjorie Taylor Greene for her recent comments about Ukraine.
- Cheney said that Greene stands "with Putin against freedom & America."
Rep. Liz Cheney took a jab at a fellow Republican — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene — for pledging to halt funding for Ukraine if Republicans gain control of Congress in the midterm elections.
"The only border they care about is Ukraine, not America's southern border," Greene said Thursday at a Trump rally, per the HuffPost. "Under Republicans, not another penny will go to Ukraine. Our country comes first. They don't care about our border or our people."
In response to Greene's speech, Cheney tweeted that this is "exactly" what Russian President Vladimir Putin wants.
"If we'd had Republicans like this in the 1980s, we would have lost the Cold War," she added.

The US has sent billions of dollars of aid to Ukraine since the start of the conflict in February. However, the funding has received pushback from GOP leaders who called on the White House to focus on domestic issues. With the midterms nearing, lawmakers are working to send $50 billion in aid to Ukraine as soon as possible.
Greene, a far-right Georgia congresswoman, has notably spread misinformation surrounding the war, previously asking if the aid sent to Ukraine is "falling into the hands of Nazis," echoing Putin's rhetoric.
She reacted to Cheney's tweet on Thursday, "There are two things that are in the past 1. You and your Daddy's Republican Party that sent our military to fight foreign wars on the backs of American tax dollars and didn't win a damn thing.," Greene wrote. "2. You."
Cheney snapped back at Greene, later adding that she stands "with Putin against freedom & America."
