  • Kenosha gunman Kyle Rittenhouse has started a YouTube channel, and it's all about guns.
  • Rittenhouse says his channel will document his journey to "help to defend the Second Amendment."

Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse has started a YouTube channel that's all about guns, and the platform is letting it stay up.

Rittenhouse posted his first video, a 35-second video titled "Welcome to my channel," to his channel on Monday. The channel currently has 37,800 subscribers.

In the video, Rittenhouse thanks his supporters for continuing to back him while sitting in front of a wall with at least four guns on display. The video includes two separate clips of Rittenhouse using firearms.

"Hello! I am super excited to announce I will be starting a Youtube channel! I look forward to creating content about guns and talking about the 2nd amendment with all of you," Rittenhouse wrote in the description of the video.

"Join me in my journey to learn everything I can about new and vintage firearms and help to defend the Second Amendment," Rittenhouse wrote in his channel description.

A YouTube spokesperson told Insider the company has strict guidelines including policies on violent and graphic content, hate, and harassment. When asked if the platform would terminate Rittenhouse's account, the spokesperson told Insider that the company will remove channels and videos in accordance with its policies.

"We also terminate channels that repeatedly or egregiously violate our policies in line with our long-standing three-strike system. All our policies are enforced consistently regardless of the uploader," the spokesperson said.

In his channel description, Rittenhouse describes himself as a "kid" best known for having "defended himself" during the Black Lives Matter protests in Wisconsin.

Rittenhouse fatally shot two men and injured a third in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in August 2020.

He was acquitted in November 2021 of five charges, including first-degree homicide. Rittenhouse and his mother, Wendy Rittenhouse, have accused several parties — including President Joe Biden — of defaming him.

Since his acquittal, Rittenhouse has become a media darling in far-right circles, and was even introduced at a right-wing event in June as the ultimate catch for conservative women.

Rittenhouse has also been active on social media. In June, he posted a video to Twitter of him firing bullets from an automatic firearm and declaring, "Joe Biden, you're not coming for our guns."

Rittenhouse and his publicist did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
