Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse has hired a new attorney in his homicide case

Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse has retained a new attorney in his double homicide case, according to Kenosha County Circuit Court records seen by Insider.
Rittenhouse, 18, retained attorney Corey Chirafisi, of the Madison, Wisconsin-based firm Chirafisi & Verhoff, S.C., on Friday, just before a pre-trial hearing.
Chirafisi is listed alongside Rittenhouse's other attorney, Mark Richards, in court records. He was hired two months after Rittenhouse fired his former lawyer, John Pierce.
Rittenhouse has been charged in the fatal shooting of Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and wounding of Gaige Grosskreutz during a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last year.
The now-18-year-old faces multiple felony charges, including homicide and reckless endangerment. Rittenhouse has also been charged with being a minor in possession of a firearm, a misdemeanor.
Rittenhouse was arrested shortly after the killing and has pleaded not guilty, with his lawyers claiming he acted in self-defense.
Rittenhouse, who crossed state lights into Wisconsin from his Illinois home on the day of shooting, became a hero to the right. Rittenhouse claimed he attended the protest to protect businesses from rioters.
He has pleaded not guilty and claimed self-defense in the shooting.
Since his pretrial release, Rittenhouse was spotted drinking at a Wisconsin pub with members of the hate group Proud Boys.
He was also seen sporting a "Free AS F***" t-shirt after he was released on a $2 million bail in November.
Rittenhouse's next court hearing is scheduled for September 17, and jury selection for his trial is set to start on November 1.
The trial is expected to last around two weeks.
