Fox News journalist Benjamin Hall has been injured outside of Kyiv, the network announced Monday.

Fox News host John Roberts announced that Hall was injured while newsgathering in the area.

Hall, a British journalist working for Fox News, has been hospitalized following the injury, Roberts said.

Ukraine's prosecutor general Irina Venediktova said on Facebook that a reporter had been wounded with two broken legs and was in intensive care under medical supervision.

"Reminder that this is in a war zone, that information changes very quickly, and we are working as hard as possible to get the best information that we possibly can and get all of the details on what has happened," Roberts added.

He continued: "The safety of our FOX team, of course, is of the utmost importance, and our highest priority."

A Fox News spokesperson referred Insider to the network's on-air report about the injury and said there were no further updates as of Monday afternoon.

Venediktova did not name the journalist, though she shared an image of the reporter's press badge that noted "Fox News."

"A citizen of your country was on the territory of Ukraine, performing an editorial task," Venediktova wrote. "This man was not at the military facility, which, according to Russian officials, they are constantly targeting. He was seriously wounded while not at the military facility."

Hall was Fox News' State Department correspondent before traveling to Ukraine to cover the Russian invasion.

During a dispatch from Kyiv on March 8, Hall pushed back against "The Five" co-host Greg Gutfeld's claim that the media was trying to drum up an "emotional response" to the bombings in Ukraine.

"Speaking as someone on the ground, I want to say that this is not the media trying to drum up some emotional response," Hall said on the same show. "This is absolutely what's happening."

Fox News hosts and contributors have publically called for prayers for their injured colleague.

"Please say a prayer for @BenjaminHallFNC, our brilliant and brave @FoxNews reporter, who was injured in Ukraine," Kayleigh McEnany tweeted.

"Fox News Reporter injured in Ukraine is @BenjaminHallFNC . Pray for his speedy recovery!" Leo Terrell said.
