Elon Musk has suspended Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, from Twitter.

"I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended," Musk tweeted on Thursday night. As of press time, none of Ye's tweets were available on his account page.

The suspension comes on the heels of a series of heated online exchanges between Ye and Musk. Ye has repeatedly made antisemitic comments in interviews over the past week and has shared a long string of controversial tweets, including an image of a swastika superimposed over the Star of David.

"Sorry, but you have gone too far. This is not love," Musk texted Ye in response to the image, according to a screenshot of their conversation Ye shared on Twitter before his suspension.

"Who made you the judge," Ye wrote back in the text exchange, the screenshot shows.

Ye also shared screenshots on Truth Social — Donald Trump's social media site — of his text conversation with Musk. Included in that text exchange was a screenshot from Ye's Twitter account that indicated he'd been put in a 12-hour Twitter timeout.

Ye appeared to know his suspension was imminent. Earlier on Thursday, he posted an unflattering image of Musk on a yacht, along with the caption: "Let's always remember this as my final tweet #ye24."

Ye and Musk have tangled on Twitter ever since Musk welcomed Ye back to Twitter on November 20. The rapper's account was restricted on October 10 for two weeks after he posted antisemitic remarks.

Also on Thursday, Ye went into an antisemitic tirade on far-right provocateur Alex Jones' "Infowars" show. During the program, he appeared alongside white nationalist Nick Fuentes and repeatedly talked about his love for Hitler and the Nazis.

Musk and representatives at Twitter did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. A lawyer for Ye did not immediately return Insider's request for comment.
