External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar has officially launched the fifth edition of the ‘Bharat ko Jaaniye Quiz,’ inviting members of the Indian diaspora and foreign nationals to test their knowledge about India. In his video announcement on Monday, Jaishankar highlighted how the quiz serves as a bridge for Indians abroad to connect with their roots and for others to discover the unique aspects of Indian culture, history, and achievements.
“I am delighted to launch the 5th Bharat ko Jaaniye Quiz,” Jaishankar announced. He described the quiz as a government initiative led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to deepen bonds with the Indian diaspora and anyone eager to explore the richness of India.
The quiz, open to people aged 14-50, is an exciting journey for participants to learn about India’s heritage, values, and vision for the future. Jaishankar added, “This quiz provides a unique way for people to explore India meaningfully, learning about its culture, ethos, history, achievements, and even its aspirations.”
The quiz is split into two categories: Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and foreign nationals. With categories that reflect the diverse nature of participants, the quiz reaches out to those interested in India, regardless of nationality or background.
For the top 30 quiz winners, the Ministry of External Affairs has an enticing reward in store: a two-week immersive tour of India, where participants can experience the nation’s vibrant culture firsthand. “Come, participate in the quiz and join the incredible India journey,” Jaishankar encouraged.
The launch of the ‘Bharat ko Jaaniye Quiz’ is part of India’s broader efforts to strengthen connections with its global community. The Ministry of External Affairs has rolled out several other programs, such as the Know India Programme, the Global Pravasi Rishta Portal, and the Pravasi Teerth Darshan Yojana. These initiatives help forge meaningful connections between the Indian diaspora and their homeland, supporting what PM Modi describes as "living bridges" between India and its global communities.
