Dodgers starting pitcher Julio Urías has been arrested on felony domestic violence charges: report
  • Julio Urías, pitcher for the LA Dodgers, has been arrested on felony domestic violence charges.
  • Urías was arrested on allegations of misdemeanor domestic violence in 2019, but charges were dropped.

Julio Urías, starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB), has been arrested on domestic violence charges, ESPN reports.

Los Angeles police told ESPN that Urías, 27, was arrested on the felony charges late Sunday night. He was released on a $50,000 bond, according to ESPN baseball columnist Jeff Passan.

A statement released by the Dodgers on Monday states that the team is aware of the incident and that Urías will not be traveling with the team as they "attempt to learn all the facts."

In 2019, Urías was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges as the LAPD investigated allegations that Urías had shoved a woman at a shopping mall, according to the AP.

The police dropped charges in that incident, but Urías accepted a 20-game suspension by MLB, agreeing not to appeal the decision and to undergo an evaluation and treatment program, the AP reported.
