Neighborhood watch app Citizen is planning to launch a private security service for users, former employees and sources told Vice.
Emails seen by Vice said that Citizen is already testing out the program and is working with private security contractor Securitas, among other companies.
A Citizen spokesperson told Vice that it's testing personal rapid response security internally with Los Angeles Professional Security.
"For example, if someone would like an escort to walk them home late at night, they can request this service. We have spoken with various partners in designing this pilot project," the company said.
