An 18-year-old woman was charged with murder after the police found a man's body wrapped in a plastic bag on the roof of a McDonald's restaurant in the Bronx, New York, according to multiple reports.
The suspect, Ayame Stamoulis, was arrested Thursday and charged with murder, according to The Bronx Daily.
ABC7 reported that the police discovered Richard Hamlet's lifeless body early Wednesday morning on the restaurant's rooftop on East 149th Street after receiving a call from a maintenance worker.
The police think Stamoulis and two men entered Hamlet's apartment near the restaurant attempting a burglary but were surprised to find him home, according to ABC7.
NBC New York cited charging documents accusing the three people of beating and choking Hamlet, wrapping his body in plastic, and moving it onto the roof of the restaurant.
Stamoulis is charged with murder, concealing a corpse, and tampering with evidence, NBC New York reported. She is scheduled to appear in court on August 17. The two men have not been arrested.
