Afghan pop star Aryana Sayeed who evacuated Kabul said she felt like she was going to die in Afghanistan, according to a CNN report.
Since her evacuation last week the singer has shared updates on her verified Instagram account and spoken about her experience with Access Hollywood.
"I was hopeless. This is like a miracle that we're getting out," she told Access Hollywood.
Sayeed told CNN the airport was chaotic, describing women fainting and desperate crowds.
Sayeed said a woman also tried to give her a baby to take on the evacuating flight.
"I cannot separate a baby from the mother, and the mother actually wanted me to take the baby but then I couldn't," she said to Access Hollywood. "The soldiers asked me if this was my baby and I said, 'Look it's not mine but could you please let her in because the baby is gonna die,' and they said, 'I'm sorry madam. We cannot do that.'"
Sayeed and her fiancé Hasib Sayed are now in Los Angeles and are in contact with friends and family still in Afghanistan, she said.
"They are hopeless, absolutely hopeless," she said in the Access Hollywood interview. "They are left with no food and no shelter and they are living in fear right now. And my heart just bleeds for them."
The Taliban on Tuesday said they wouldn't allow Afghans to reach Kabul airport and rejected any possibility for an extension on Biden's August 31 withdrawal deadline.
In an Instagram post, Sayeed said she "simply cannot stop thinking about our people and those who did not have the same option as me and many others to get to a safe location."
Sayeed also blasted Biden's decision to withdraw from Afghanistan.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU LEFT AFGHANISTAN IN CHAOS!!" she wrote.
