A woman was arrested Monday in Missouri after bragging to a friend online about storming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office during the Capitol riot and stealing the California representative's beer.

Cara Maureen Hentschel posted pictures of herself at the riot to social media, and authorities identified her in surveillance footage from inside the US Capitol after it was breached by a mob of Trump supporters on January 6, according to a criminal complaint viewed by Insider.

Authorities took perhaps longer than usual to build a case against Hentschel because she refused to cooperate with investigators when they first received a tip about her attendance at the riot in February, according to the complaint.

Investigators later obtained search warrants for Hentschel's Facebook account and uncovered a conversation she had with an unnamed person on the day of the riot.

When the friend asked Hentschel if she was at the protest, she responded, "Uh yeah dawg. I'm here."

She then went on to brag about breaking into Pelosi's office.

"I was the first group in ... We storm peloskis office and took her beer [sic]. She drinks Corona," Hentschel said, according to the complaint.

Insider reached out to Pelosi's representatives on Friday for comment about whether she stocks beer in her office, but did not immediately receive a response.

Hentschel was arrested on October 4 in Springfield, Missouri, according to court records. She faces charges of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, disorder and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, and parading, demonstrating or picketing any of the Capitol buildings.
