A bar in New Jersey had its outdoor dining license revoked less than a week after it reopened for business after a photo showed the establishment's beer garden packed with people not social distancing, violating Gov. Phil Murphy's executive order.

An image posted to Instagram by @morristown.nj, an unofficial account focused on the city, showed a packed beer garden at Tashmoo Bar & Restaurant in Morristown, New Jersey, over the weekend. Few people in the photo were seen wearing masks, and many were not social distancing.

The bar had reopened its outdoor seating areas on June 15, as coronavirus restrictions were eased in the city.

Morristown's police union president Dennis Bergman told NJ.com that he had no plans to close Tashmoo permanently.

"We want to see our local businesses thrive and not forced into having to close their doors permanently," Bergman said. "We encourage you to keep in mind that the officers on the street that are responding to these calls are not dictating nor consulted on policy."

Tashmoo did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Jillian Barrick, Morristown's business administrator, told NJ.com that the bar is the only in the city to have its outdoor dining license revoked.

"Many of our established restaurants and retailers have worked hard to pivot their business model to comply with the state regulations and ensure the health of their patrons," she said in a statement. "Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to the contrary, not all businesses followed the guidelines and we had to shut them down."

According to News 12 New Jersey, city officials are now requiring all bar and restaurant customers to sit down at tables. Officials have also further limited outdoor dining capacities and banned self-service drink stations.
