A dog that went missing in 2017 was found roaming woods 6 miles from her home age after surviving in the wild

A 12-year-old dog was discovered living wild in the woods near an English village almost seven years after she went missing.
The Patterdale terrier, named Rose, was reported missing in March 2017 within 24 hours of being adopted, according to a report by CNN.
Lost Dog Recovery UK South, a group of volunteers, posted on Facebook that someone alerted them to a stray dog near Crawley Down, a village in West Sussex, England.
They soon discovered that Rose was a familiar sight to locals, who would often feed her, according to CNN.
The team organized a stake out of the dog's usual feeding areas and used hidden cameras to monitor her movements, according to The Telegraph.
They were then able to use some roast chicken topped with paté to lure Rose into a metal cage so that they could check on her health.
After finding she was microchipped, Lost Dog Recovery UK South tracked down her previous owners, who originally lived only six miles from where Rose was found.
They said they were no longer in a position to look after her and had relocated. Rose is now being rehabilitated before she can find a new home.
"Although we will never know when exactly she came to settle in Crawley Down, what we do know is that she is finally SAFE, and now will not spend the rest of her senior years fending for herself in the cold and wet," the volunteer team wrote on social media.
