Ivana Trump, the first wife of former President Donald Trump, died at the age of 73 on Thursday. She is survived by her children Donald Trump Jr, Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump — and an endless supply of pointed quotes and euphemisms about her lavish life.
"I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there were many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City," Donald Trump said in a post on Truth Social. "She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life."
The official cause of her death has not yet been announced. ABC reported that New York City paramedics initially responded to a call of a woman in cardiac arrest at her apartment in Manhattan, and the New York Police Department is investigating whether Ivana Trump fell down the stairs as well.
She and Donald Trump married in 1977 in a marriage that lasted until 1992, falling apart due to Donald Trump's affair with Marla Maples. During the marriage, she held high positions in the Trump Organization and became a New York socialite.
"She very much was a New York person," her former lawyer Ira Garr told Insider. "Certain people become part of the New York scene who are always associated with the city."
She wrote several tell-all books, including "The Best Is Yet to Come" in 1995 after securing a $14 million divorce settlement, and the memoir "Raising Trump" in 2017. Here are nine quotes that offer a glimpse into her lifestyle.
