The victims were onboard a Piper 31T twin engine turbo prop aircraft en route to a funeral in Newcastle, Indiana from Williston, Florida when the plane went down, Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills confirmed in the release.

The plane crashed Friday afternoon in a wooded area off Tanyard Road, about 6 miles Northeast of Eatonton, Georgia. There were no survivors, but the remains of the victims were identified.

Larry Ray Pruitt, age 67 of Morriston, Florida, was identified as the pilot and owner of the aircraft. Also among the victims were Pruitt's daughter, Jody Rae Lamont, 43, her husband Shawn Charles Lamont, 41, and their children, Jayce, 6, and Alice, 4.

The Federal Aviation Administration investigated the crash site Saturday morning, the AJC reported, and authorities reportedly said the National Transportation Safety Board is examining the cause of the crash.
