A 14-year-old boy was killed and four other high school students were injured in a shooting outside Roxborough High School in Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

A spokesperson with the Philadelphia Police Department confirmed to Insider that four juveniles were shot around 4:40 p.m. local time outside the high school.

Police later said at a press conference that five people were shot, including the young student who died. The victims were all Roxborough football players who were walking off the field, wrapping up a scrimmage between three teams when the shooting took place, according to authorities.

The boy who died played for the Roxborough football team but attended a magnet school nearby, local media reported.

Police said a light green Ford Explorer drove up and two gunmen in the car fired at least 70 shots before the vehicle took off westbound.

No arrests had been made in the incident as of Tuesday evening.
