Tata Motors is a giant concern in the Indian multi-national automotive manufacturing industry segment. A subsidiary of the Tata Group, the company has its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Global presence

Tata Motors owns Britain’s Jaguar Land Rover. Tata Motors is today present in more than 170 countries around the globe. Today over 8.5 million vehicles of the Tata Brand are plying in the world. Through exports, the company has been expanding its international presence since 1961. India’s first sports car

Under its sub-brand TAMO, Tata Motors has launched India’s first sports car Racemo. The mild engine two-seater coupe is a very quick car that can accelerate to 100 kmph within six seconds. The scissor doors of the car is one of the most interesting aspects to see in a car. The weight of the vehicle is kept as low as possible and the design has been ably sculpted to assure enough downforce. The two versions of the car are Racemo and Racemo+.

Tata Motors is a 70- years old company. The company started its journey out as Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO) in 1945. The initially launched trucks of the company carried the Mercedes Logo and the company also had collaborations with Daimler Benz.

Initially the company was popular for its trucks

Three trucks manufactured by the company participated in the Geneva-Bombay rally in the year 1955. To make it to the event, the trucks travelled 8,000 miles without sustaining any breakdown. Tata Motors has been exporting trucks to more than 45 countries for more than 50 years. The first exports of the company to Sri Lanka was in 1961.

Tata 407 smashed an international competition

Tata Motors launched its Tata 407 in 1986. Upon its launch, the vehicle smashed the international competition from Eicher-Mitsubishi, DCM Toyota, Swaraj Mazda and Allwyn-Nissan. Becoming highly popular just like 407, the model transformed the vehicle manufacturer in the light commercial vehicle space through an Indian made solution.

The fully indigenous car

Tata Motors launched the first ever fully Indian made car namely Tata Indica. The car was completely based on Indian technology and parts.

The most economical car

The car sold in the lowest budget, Tata Nano is smaller than Maruti 800. However, it has more leg room, elbow room, shoulder room and headroom. To fuel the car, you need to lift up the bonnet.
