Instagram Whiners: Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

In the same way that developer Dalton Caldwell wants people to pay a one-time $50 fee for App.net, a spam-free and ad-free Twitter alternative, Jeremy Anticouni hopes to win over disillusioned Instagram users.

Some Instagram users got upset last year over confusing changes to its terms of service that suggested it would sell users' photos. Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom apologized and said that the Facebook-owned photo service wouldn't do that.

Also, some people are just tired of Instagram, period.

For a $2 monthly fee or one-time $70 fee, Instafocus will be your photo-based social network, minus ads and spam.

Anticouni is a cofounder of Pixl3, a mobile-app development shop.
