Instagram went down for some users on Friday.
Affected users are unable to refresh the photo-sharing app, or to access its website. It's not immediately clear what caused the outage, and the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
On the downtime-monitoring website Down Detector, users across the world - particularly the coastal United States and Northern Europe - reported issues accessing the Facebook-owned app.

The outage appears to be affecting different users differently: Multiple people in Business Insider's office in San Francisco were unable to refresh the app or load its website, though this reporter could access it seemingly without issue.
