  • Signify's new Philips Hue Play lightstrip starts at $200 for 55-inch TVs, with the price increasing for larger TVs. It's designed to shine colored light onto the wall surrounding your TV that matches what you're watching.
  • The Hue Play is available to preorder now, and will be released and available to buy on October 16.
  • The new Philips Hue Iris table lamp starts at $100 and is designed to deliver indirect ambient lighting by shining customizable light onto a white wall. It comes with improvements over the original, like better dimmming and higher brightness.

Signify added new Philips Hue ambient lighting to its lineup on September 3, including the Hue Play gradient light strip, as well as a new Hue Iris table lamp.

The new Philips Hue Play gradient light strip is designed to be placed behind TV's 55-inch or larger, and it will "mimic the colors and action of the content on the screen," Signify said. It requires the Philips Hue Bridge, and you can control the Play lightstrip with either the Hue Sync PC app or the Hue Sync mobile app combined with the Hue Play HDMI sync box.

The Hue Play lightstrip starts at $200 for 55-60 inch TVs, $220 for 65-70 inch TVs, and $240 for 75-85 inch TVs. It can be preordered starting on September 3 from the Philips Hue website, and it will be fully released and available to buy starting on October 16 in the US.

The new Philips Hue Iris lamp is designed to shine customizable light onto a wall (preferably white) to offer indirect ambient lighting. The new Hue Iris improves over the original Iris that the company said offers richer colors, dimming levels that go lower, and higher brightness up to 570 lumens. It can be controlle over Bluetooth or paired with the Hue Bridge for the full set of features and customization.

The Hue Iris costs $100 and will be fully released and available to buy starting on October 19.
