The Serie A 2020-21 season will start on September 19, giving Italy's best soccer teams a chance to vie for the Coppa Campioni d'Italia trophy. ESPN will stream the most of the season's games live through the ESPN+ streaming service. The season will run from September 19, 2020 to May 23, 2021.
Serie A is set up as a round-robin style tournament with a total of 20 teams competing. During the course of the season, each participating team will play each of the other clubs twice. Winning teams get three points, and if there is a tie both teams get one point. The top four teams at the end of the Serie A season qualify for the UEFA Champions League, which is Europe's premier club soccer tournament.
The 2019-20 Serie A season ended on August 2, 2020, following a three-month pause in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Juventus took the top prize, earning the team's 36th Serie A title. Internazionale, Atalanta, and Lazio rounded out the remainder of the top four spots. If Juventus comes away with the trophy again this season, the win will mark the team's tenth straight Serie A victory in a row
