Bubble Goods calls itself "The Most Transparent Food Marketplace." Like your local natural health food grocer, it's a place where you can trust that the products on the shelves are made with natural ingredients — and where you can almost certainly expect to stumble upon something new, interesting, and delicious.

It's easy to browse by category, search products directly, and take your time looking at ingredient labels. Then, your order is shipped quickly to your door.

We recently took a closer look at this cool site to show you what to expect and some of the best things to buy.

Like competitors such as Thrive Market, Bubble Goods is pretty tightly curated.

First, it only sells food, drinks, and vitamins and supplements. Every single product goes through a strict approval process where the ingredient list goes under a microscope.

Bubble has a list of allowed and restricted ingredients; on the "nice" list are things like coconut oil, agave nectar, and monk fruit, in addition to whole fruits, grains, vinegars, probiotics, nuts, and seeds. On the "naughty" list are artificial and refined sugars and sweeteners, artificial dyes, flavor enhancers, bulking agents, preservatives, trans fats, and more.

Only after the brand passes the ingredients guidelines, taste tests, and checks for ethical, sustainable sourcing can it be sold on Bubble.

The result is a small but strong collection of innovative, creative, and healthy food products. There are snacks, baked goods, sauces and condiments, pasta and rice, tea, coffee, and more. Within each category, you can filter by dietary choices such as paleo or gluten-free, taste, health benefits, and values (e.g. female-founded, BIPOC-founded).

A few intriguing finds we came across: spirulina popcorn, spicy cashew cheese sauce, and hickory smoked biltong. These are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the variety of Bubble's offerings.

While I recognized a few brands, like my favorite granola, gr8nola, I was exposed to many more names that I had never seen before, so it was fun to explore all of them on the site.

Recognizing that natural foods are often pricey, Bubble has a whole under-$10 section for options that are both delicious and affordable. On the other side of the spectrum, if you want to treat yourself or a loved one to a gift basket of healthy treats, you can check the gift section for themed bundles.

Keep in mind that Bubble is a marketplace, not a retailer. That means individual brands are shipping their products to you and Bubble is merely streamlining the browsing experience. If you buy products from five different brands, you'll be receiving five separate shipments rather than one master shipment with all your orders.

We found it somewhat annoying to receive multiple email notifications and several cardboard packages, but on the bright side, you do only pay one shipping fee (for two-day standard shipping, prices vary based on your delivery address) for the whole order.

Despite the shipping process, we still had a great experience with Bubble Goods. You may be able to find the same products on other sites like Amazon, but Bubble makes it easy, not to mention exciting, to discover new favorites. Its product transparency, ease of browsing, and eye for up-and-coming food brands will keep us coming back for more.
