- Apple One is a new program that combines multiple Apple subscription services into a single monthly payment plan for a discounted price.
- Three Apple One subscription tiers will be offered at launch: Individual ($14.95/month), Family ($19.95/month), and Premier ($29.95/month).
- Apple One includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and iCloud storage; Premier subscribers will also get Apple News+ and the newly announced Apple Fitness+.
During a September event that included the announcement of new iPads and Apple Watches, Apple introduced a new program called Apple One that will combine its growing number of subscription services into a single monthly plan.
In recent years, Apple has diversified its business with monthly subscriptions for five different digital products: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and iCloud storage space. A sixth platform, a digital workout tool called Apple Fitness+, was confirmed during the September event as well.
Apple One will provide a discount for customers who are invested in the Apple ecosystem. The Apple One individual plan starts at $14.95 per month and will include Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage. Those same services currently cost $21 per month if you subscribe to them all without Apple One. Comparatively, the $19.95 per month family plan will provide those same services to six family members, when it would normally cost about $28 per month.
Apple One will be available later this fall, though the exact launch date hasn't been announced. The Apple One Premier plan will be exclusive to the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK due to limited availability for Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+.
How does Apple One work and how much does it cost?
Apple
Apple One combines multiple Apple subscription services into a single monthly payment plan. Apple is currently offering three subscription tiers for Apple One: Individual, Family, and Premier.
New Apple One members can receive a free 30-day trial for any services that they don't already use. You can see the monthly prices below, followed by a breakdown of each Apple subscription service included with Apple One.
- Individual ($14.95/month): Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and 50GB iCloud storage
- Family ($19.95/month): Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 200GB iCloud storage; plan can be shared with up to six family members using Apple IDs.
- Premier ($29.95/month): Apple Fitness+, Apple News+, Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 2TB of iCloud storage; plan can be shared with up to six family members using Apple IDs.
Apple Music

Apple Music is a subscription music streaming service that competes with Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited. The service boasts more than 70 million songs, thousands of curated playlists, and live, commercial-free radio stations.
If you're interested in Apple Music alone you can try the service for three months before starting the $9.99 monthly payments. College students are eligible for a discounted Apple Music account for up to four years, and can try the service for six months for free if they sign up before October 31. Apple Music student users will also get access to Apple TV+ at no extra cost.
Apple TV+
"The Morning Show" is one of the most talked about shows on Apple TV+, thanks to stars Steve Carell and Jennifer Aniston.

Apple TV+ is a streaming service with a lineup of exclusive shows created by Apple. The iPhone-maker launched Apple TV+ last fall and it now has more than two dozen shows, including "The Morning Show" with Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell, and a series of talk shows and documentaries produced and hosted by Oprah Winfrey.
Apple TV+ typically costs $4.99 per month, making it one of Apple's cheapest subscription services. Trying it as a part of Apple One will give you a 30-day trial, instead of the usual seven days for new Apple TV+ subscribers.
The Apple TV+ app is available on Roku, Amazon, Samsung, and LG devices, along with Apple's own products.
Apple Fitness+
Apple Fitness+ will launch later this year with virtual workouts and detailed fitness tracking.
Apple
Apple Fitness+ is a newly announced service that will provide virtual workout videos and other tools to help people improve their health. Fitness+ will work in conjunction with the Apple Watch, tracking your heart rate, calories burned, and other vitals during the day.
Fitness+ workouts are focused on aerobics and bodyweight so the only equipment you might need are a pair of dumbbells. Apple Fitness+ has been compared to Peloton's increasingly popular virtual workout programs, which cost $12.99 per month for digital access to classes.
Without an Apple One plan, Apple Fitness+ costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year, and it can be shared between six family members. Apple is offering three months of Fitness+ for free with the purchase of a new Apple Watch, but the exact launch date of the new service is still unknown.
Apple Arcade
Apple Arcade offers more than 100 games that work on every Apple device.
Apple
For $4.99 per month, Apple Arcade subscribers get access to more than 100 video games, some of which are exclusive to the platform. Every Apple Arcade game is designed to work on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, MacOS, and even the iPod Touch. The games are all ad-free, and downloadable content is available at no extra cost.
New users are eligible for a one-month trial and up to six people can share an Apple Arcade subscription using Family Sharing. While Apple Arcade games require a subscription, the App Store still hosts more than 300,000 free and paid games.
Apple News+
Apple News+ offers a premium reading experience and paid articles at a discount.
Apple
Apple News+ gives subscribers access to hundreds of magazines and articles from premium sources that you'd have to pay a separate subscription for, like The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times.
While Apple News already offers a wide selection of stories each day for free, News+ offers an even deeper well of curated content with back catalogues for legendary publications, like Rolling Stone, Time, and Vanity Fair.
You'll need an iPhone, iPad, or Mac computer to access Apple News+, but some magazines will also use special formatting to make the most of Apple's devices.
Apple News+ normally costs $9.99 per month alone but new subscribers get a one-month free trial.
iCloud
Apple
iCloud is Apple's cloud storage solution, providing space to back up all of your photos, videos, contacts, and other essential data. Apple offers three monthly iCloud subscription plans, 50GB ($0.99/month), 200GB ($2.99/month), and 2TB ($9.99/month).
While iCloud is already fairly cheap, bundling extra storage alongside Apple's other services will help users save money while remaining in Apple's highly regarded app ecosystem. iCloud works on Windows computers too, so you can also back up data from your home PCs.
Apple One won't be available til later this fall, but be sure to check out our full coverage of Apple's September presentation.
