Inside view of Kangana Ranaut’s bright and sunny house which has a Himachali touch

When you will enter Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s apartment in Mumbai’s upscale Khar apartment complex, you will be welcomed by a bright blue door. Yes, that’s her Himachali roots talking.

Kangana’s apartment is sunny, open and bright. The interiors of her house are quite quirky, unique, stylish and elegant. Her four-bedroom house speaks a thousand words about her personality, has a mountain flavour and a rustic look.

“I’m a mountain girl, and I wanted a bit of a mountain flavour, with a lot of greenery and colour,” Kangana told Architectural Digest.

Her house has been re-structured by interior designer Richa Bahl who has made sure each every piece in her house is unique, represents her ideology and persona, and a warm-cosy space.

“I like gung-ho women,” Kangana told the AD.

Kangana has made sure her house has ample of greenery, something that takes closer to her roots.

1. Drawing room

The niches in the drawing room are a signature Richa Bahl design motif

2. Bedroom

Ranaut’s bedroom features her favourite spot in the house: her reading nook.

3. Rustic look

The house now features rustic-looking walls, wooden beamed ceilings, and slate tiles on the floor

Ranaut refers this as her “work space" There are no awards on proud display, no movie posters, no dismaying propensity for blown-up self-portraits

5. Dining time

Ranaut's idea of a perfect house is a place that takes her closer to the roots, while she looks into her future

Ranaut has a bright blue door, which, she says, is a nod to her Himachali roots

7. Personal space

Ranaut is clear about separating the professional from the personal; and this house, to her, is undeniably personal
