Infosys elevates Ravi Venkatesan as co-chairman of the board. Here’s why he matters

Infosys appointed independent director Ravi Venkatesan as co-chairman of the board. The elevation comes at a time when Infosys is struggling with governance issues and founders doubting the salary and severance packages handed out to the board members.
Venkatesan has been on Infosys’ board since 2011 and has been contributing immensely in the devising strategies for the company. Infosys Chairman R Seshasayee said Venkatesan will enhance the board engagement in supporting the management in execution of the company’s strategy.
Venkatesan has been instrumental in bringing about strategic developments in various companies. He has led transformations in power solutions, literacy programmes, etc. Presently, he is also the Chairman of Bank of Baroda.
