American technology pioneer InFocus is all set to make a head-spinning start in the Indian smartphone market with the launch of smartphones, tablets and LED TVs. New technology and customer trust are the key focus points. Naked eye 3D technology, anodized aluminum unibody smartphones and brilliant Ultra High Definition LED displays are snippets of the innovative technology and premium designs launched in India.

“Our mission for InFocus in India is as bold as it is simple: InFocus is determined to enrich the lives of all Indians by pushing the boundaries of technology and design innovation and providing quality consumers can trust. With the help of strategic partners such as Foxconn and SuperD, we will revolutionise the mobile communication, electronics and visual display markets in India with our fantastic portfolio, and undoubtedly reach $1 billion by the end of 2016,” said Sachin Thapar, country head, InFocus India.

InFocus also hinted that this is just the first phase of the brand’s rollout in India and the Indian public should expect to see a great variety of new products and product lines from InFocus in the not-so-distant future.

Focussed on building a large loyal customer base, InFocus aims to sell at least one million phones till March 2016.

Not only this, InFocus have huge plans of expansion in India.

“Right now there are 101 customer service centres in 60 cities. Our mission is to ramp this up to 150 centres next month in 100 cities. We are also going to establish R&D and technical expert. I think we will build a strong network in the coming 3-4 months. Our aim is to establish InFocus as one of the most competitive players in the next one year,” said Sachin.

Also, talking about their strategic partnership with InFocus, Sachin said, “Foxconn is a powerhouse as far as production and manufacturing is concerned. We are going to extend this partnership into India, so we are going to start local assembly. All our products would be manufactured by Foxconn.”

In fact, they will be delivering their first products from the AP plant this September.

Though they are available only on online portals, Snapdeal and Amazon, Sachin added that they do not want to be restricted here and hence would expand to all possible channels in the future.

Speaking about the Indian smartphones market, he said, “Right now the market is at a growth phase and it is going to grow immensely in the next 3-5 years. It feels good to be in this market.”
