The movie had everything that could have made it a hit, and was even promoted well, with its songs topping all charts. Featuring Arjun Rampal, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranbir Kapoor, the movie was expected to do well, but as compared to Rs 40 crore of its budget, it merely managed Rs 58 crores, and was heavily panned for its poor story and performances, becoming a butt of many jokes.

Alone
The second release of 2015 had Bipasha Basu in a double role. This remake of the Thai film of the same name had Karan Singh Grover playing the lead part with Basu. The movie couldn’t manage to do any wonders at the box office, not even with the enormous experience that Basu has garnered in playing such characters over the years. The movie collected Rs 25 crores against Rs 18 crore that went into making the movie.

Bombay Velvet
The movie was amongst many surprising flops at the box office, even though it was highly awaited by the fans of Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar and Abhinav Kashyap. The movie was a super flop at the box office, and despite some good reviews, it fared badly at the ticket counter.

The first major release of 2015 saw Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha playing the lead roles, and Manoj Bajpai in a negative role. A remake of the 2003 Telugu film
Okkadu, the movie was promoted well and even carried rumors of alleged affair between the lead pair. The movie tanked at the box office, earning merely Rs 56 crore against the budget of Rs 40 crore.

This was the movie that left a mark in the minds of everyone who saw it, and yet couldn’t fare well at the BO. Performances by Ajay Devgan and Tabu were stirring and the direction was too gripping to be ignored, but even then, the Rs 62-crore movie earned only Rs 74 crore.

The concept was good, the performance was great, and the direction was gripping. However, nothing could save this movie from drowning deep at the box office, not even Sushant Singh Rajput’s growing popularity. Against the budget of Rs 35 crore, it only earned Rs 36 crore.
