The engine is a 49-degree V-twin motor that churns out 139Nm of torque. The bike comes fitted with a narrower windshield, cruise control, ABS and a premium audio system.

However, the pièce de résistance for the 2016 Chieftain is its matte black paint. Everything that can be painted has been painted black. There’s some chrome peeking through the blackened sections, like the exhaust, bags and fenders, but you can choose to have them in black as well. The engine’s cooling fins and the pushrod tunnels also get some chrome.

Sadly, the 2016 Indian Chieftain Dark Horse has only been introduced in the US for now. However, judging that almost the entire range of Indian Motorcycles is on sale in India, this one is expected to arrive on our shores in the coming months too, and the prices are expected to be around 28-30 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
