Indian Govt has asked arms suppliers to be ready as tension rises

In the backdrop of rising tension between India and Pakistan, the Indian government has asked arm suppliers and the industry to be ready for increasing the production and supply contracts at a short notice.

As per reports, government officials and top company executives said that feelers had originated from the government in the course of recent days to evaluate the ability and ability to meet quick necessities of the military.

Weapon suppliers, incorporating some with the greatest organizations in India, have been reached to pass on that, if need be, contracts for extra arms could be put on a prompt premise.

"The government wants a realistic estimate of the industry's ability to deliver on a short notice; to upscale current production and to meet urgent orders,” a top defence executive told ET.
