Indian employers top the hiring list, again!

Indian employers are the most optimistic amongst all their international counterparts, when it comes to hiring plans for the first quarter of 2016. This report has come from the latest edition of the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, which was conducted over 58,000 firms from 42 countries. India has topped this list for second quarter in a row.

In India, the survey was done over 5,065 employers and 42% of them hinted at plans to increase their staff during the first quarter.

"Job prospects are continuing to improve. Consumer-focused industries led by e-commerce companies are leading the hiring march, and will continue to do so in the next quarter," AG Rao, group managing director at Manpower-Group India, told ET.

The sectors that are expected to grow strong and hire maximum people are transportation and utilities, public administration, education, wholesale and retail trade. In transportation and utilities, 48% employers are looking to up their hiring from January, while the figure is over 45% in sectors of finance, insurance and real estate, along with public administration and education; and wholesale and retail trade.
